NEET 2017 Question Paper Analysis

CBSE conducted the NEET 2017 examination across 1921 centers on May 7, 2017. Students have reported that regional questions papers were more difficult compared to the English question paper because of ambiguity in regional question papers. CBSE officials reported that the Official answer key for NEET 2017 will be made available soon on NEET official website.

Subject Distribution

In case of Physics, 21 questions came from 12th syllabus and 24 questions from 11th syllabus. For Chemistry, 24 questions came from 12th standard and 21 questions came from 11th standard syllabus. With respect to biology, 44 came from 11th standard and 46 came from 12th standard. Overall, it is observed that the questions were even with respect to subject.

Physics: The question paper had 19 questions from Mechanics, 9 from Electrodynamics, 7 from Modern Physics, 5 from Kinetic Theory and Thermodynamics, 5 from Optics and Waves.

Chemistry: The question paper had 14 from Organic Chemistry, 12 questions from Physical Chemistry, , 12 from Inorganic Chemistry and 4 questions from General Chemistry.

Biology: This year NEET Question paper had 15 from Genetics and Evolution, 13 from Human Physiology, 11 from Diversity in Living Organisms, 11 questions from Reproduction, 9 from Ecology, 7 from Structural Organization in Plants and Animals, 7 from Biology and Human Welfare, 7 from Cell Structure and Function, 6 from Plant Physiology, and 4 from Biotechnology

Difficulty Level

NEET 2017 Question Paper difficulty level was moderate. But when we compare it to the last year question paper, this year is slighter tougher.

Physics is the toughest of the three subjects. But, NEET 2017 question paper was of moderate difficulty. There were lot of calculation-based questions as usual. When we compare it to last year difficulty level, it is slightly tougher and takes little more time to solve them.

Chemistry is generally of moderate difficulty and this year question paper also followed the routine. Most questions were conceptual and application based.

Biology is generally considered to be moderately difficult and this year was no different. The paper is slightly tough compared to last year.
