Explanation:
Dark reaction takes place in the stroma of the chloroplast where the products of light reaction (i.e. assimilatory power) are used to incorporate carbon from CO₂ to carbohydrate. Although the reaction itself does not require light but the process often occurs in the light and continues for a brief period after a plant is kept in dark as long as NADPH and ATP are available. It is also known as thermochemical (enzymatic) reaction.
